Message from Therapist

It is a privilege to be able to accompany clients on what are often difficult, overwhelming and uncertain times in their lives. I consider it a sacred mission to provide my clients  with guidance and support on their healing journeys, whether it be by helping them to process painful trauma that they may have experienced in their lifetime or by helping then to obtain the necessary tools and knowledge that they need to address other issues with which they might be currently struggling. I am committed to providing services with compassion, integrity and in a way that helps clients not only find and use their voices but to also experience the joys of not only knowing but also believing that they are beloved and made in the image of Christ so that they may begin to live their lives according to that Truth.

Practice Info

Bio:
I am a bilingual (Spanish and English) Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor in Dallas, Texas with a demonstrated history of extensive experience working in the mental health care field.

I graduated from Southern Methodist University in 2003 with a B.A. in English and Psychology in 2003 and from Dallas Baptist University with an M.A. in Counseling Psychology in 2012. Work experience includes: working in psychiatric facility, outpatient counseling, community mental health center counseling, Youth and Family Centers, counseling and providing parent and child support, working with families, and working in private practice providing individual counseling.

I specialize in trauma counseling with a focus on helping adult men and women recover from childhood abuse, domestic violence and other traumatic experiences. I have also worked with young adult women on a variety of issues specific to their stages of life, including: issues with depression and anxiety, issues with unhealthy relationship patterns, family of origin issues, managing the stress of college life, low self-esteem and/or sense of self-worth, struggles with living life joyfully as singles. I have also helped people to recover from trauma related to infertility and infant loss resulting from miscarriage and/or stillbirth experiences. Additionally, I am one of the few bilingual therapists who is certified in EMDR therapy, which is a therapy modality designed to alleviate the distress associated with traumatic memories such as post-traumatic stress disorder. Moreover, I am one of a minority of Catholic therapists who offer EMDR Intensives, which are intensive 3-6 hour counseling sessions that take place in one day and help people to experience healing in a shorter amount of time.

I've been a guest on Guadalupe Radio and have a strong devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
