I am passionate about individual, couple, marriage, and family healing through the powerful combination of psychology, scripture, and prayer.
I strive to understand your personal experiences through a compassionate, trauma-informed and systemic lens to find a pathway forward. Leading to lasting change and a greater sense of purpose and clarity in life.
Common issues I work with are anxiety, academic and career stress, depression, ADHD, OCD, self-esteem, body image, and relationship issues to include sibling and parental conflict. I understand that life can be overwhelming, and so I work towards understanding your story so there is space for healing, forgiveness, and light to move forward.
Therapeutic techniques include Psychodynamic Therapy, Trauma-Focused CBT, Solution Focused Therapy, DBT, Nuero-Emotional-Technique from a Person-Centered and systemic approach. All of which are integrated with my practice of faith and Scriptural truth.
I provide couples, pre-marital, and marriage counseling to help couples improve communication, resolve conflicts, and strengthen their relationship. I integrate key elements of Pre-Cana with traditional couples counseling to work through any challenges and to build a strong foundation for the couple to grow together as one.
Family Therapy sessions are designed to help families improve their relationships, resolve conflicts, and create a healthier and happier family dynamic from a spiritual perspective. I understand the challenges of maintaining a healthy, happy, and loving family in these modern times, and so we work together to identify any areas of improvement to creating a safe and supportive environment for all.
I offer Catholic-based spiritual counseling to address psychospiritual issues and promote soul-care. My aim is to support and encourage others to live the life God intended for us all.
Shannon Centore is the founder of The Spiritual MFT. Shannon's practice and social media platform was born out of her years of clinical education and training, personal life experiences, and desire to understand the missing pieces to best help and provide for others emotional and spiritual needs.
While supporting people who were struggling with pain and suffering from their trauma; and a lack of love and understanding from their environments, Shannon discovered the intersectionality of Psychology and Theology. Through her passion for educating others for optimal lifestyle and health outcomes, Shannon created a platform that empowers others to heal their mind, body, and soul through the powerful combination of psychology, scripture, and prayer.
Shannon's most cherished passage is Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Shannon aims to best support and encourage others to live the life God intended for us all.
Shannon holds a BS in Psychology with a focus in Health Sciences from Drexel University, a MS in Clinical and Counseling Psychology, specializing in Marriage and Family Therapy from Chestnut Hill College and an Executive Certificate from Liberty University. She is currently pursuing a PhD in Psychology and Theology from Liberty University.
