Dr. Sean Tobin is a clinical psychologist at the Divine Mercy Clinic, the go-to Catholic mental health center in the archdiocese of Los Angeles. He provides therapy primarily for adolescents and adults, as well as couples and families. He primarily works from a psychodynamic and cognitive-behavioral approach, but also integrates other modalities according to the need of the client. In therapy, Dr. Tobin is compassionate and engaged, bringing a depth of insight and feedback to help clients gain clarity and self-knowledge. He approaches therapy with an incarnational approach, believing the most healing occurs in the context of relationship.
Dr. Tobin is Christ-centered, and believes that relationship with God is the most significant factor in one's mental and emotional health. As Pope Benedict XVI said, "Whoever wishes to heal man must see him in his wholeness and must know that his ultimate healing can only be God's love".
At Divine Mercy Clinic, our mission is to promote mental health and marriage & family flourishing through quality, affordable mental health services that are integrated with the fullness of the Catholic faith.
At the heart of healing is bringing mercy and love to the lives of each person and their wounds. We look at the very best in the field of psychology and counseling as an instrument for this healing. At the heart of such treatment is a deep respect to the dignity of each person and state of the art service for each individual.
We offer individual, couples and family psychotherapy, as well as psychological and psychoeducational assessments. Our clinicians are trained in the resolution of a broad range of psychological, emotional, social and educational problems, and remain faithful to the Magisterium of the Catholic Church. We offer a holistic perspective that works to overcome the human barriers that prevent us from living our faith.
