Hello, I'm Rob, a therapist based out of renowned Steubenville, Ohio. My favorite therapy style is insight oriented, psychotherapy with a strong interpersonal dynamic. I tailor therapeutic techinques to the needs of each client I work with. We know life is hard - we all need a little help and support on the journey. I see myself as walking beside the people I work with. Some need to look into the past and process it, receive a different perspective on it. Some have a specific goal in mind like decreasing anxiety by learning new skills in a short period of time. Others need a listening ear, with some insights sprinkled in. Kids achieve the best results with play therapy. Adults at times benefit from clarity and analysis. What do you need? I believe the interpersonal connection between counselor and client can be healing in and of itself. People are ones that hurt us, we're also the ones that heal each other.

Bio:
My faith, my relationship with Christ, is the deepest part of me. I know how crucial it is to have someone who shares that with their therapist. I have personally had both a "secular" and a Catholic therapist. When the therapist doesn't share the same Catholic worldview of their Catholic client something is missing. I believe God is the vital Person in the relationship between therapist and client. He is the One who heals us. He just wants to use each other to do that sometimes.

I'm originally from NYC and raised in a large Irish, Catholic family. I received my undergrad in Philosophy with a minor in Theology and my graduate degree in counseling at Franciscan University, receiving a great formation.  After undergrad, I had entered the Community of St. John for a year, deciding that wasn't where I was being called.  I taught at a Catholic High School in New York for a number of years which led to an interest in individual counseling. I moved back to Steubenville 10 years ago and, after receiving my Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, have been working in the mental health field for over 8 years. I meet with my spiritual director (a Priest)  monthly and  live a daily Sacramental life in the Church by God's grace.
