Each person’s journey in life is unique and has its own challenges. These struggles can serve as opportunities for personal growth and positive change.
I incorporate a spiritual framework that is rooted in the teachings of the Catholic Church. In my experience as a therapist, this approach has paved the way for greater meaning, support and healing. Issues are dealt from a perspective to serve clients who desire a deeper understanding of self in relation to God, and seek to heal through an openness to His mercy, grace and compassionate love. I utilize psychodynamic and cognitive behavioral approaches, mostly tailoring my interventions to what best suits the client's presenting issues.
We are all made in His image and likeness and by that very nature, embarking on a path that is inclusive of our Creator can only lead one towards inner fulfillment. Even the saints' lives were not perfect, but they continued to say "Yes" to God's invitation of love and persisted on that journey He had uniquely set for them. As someone once quoted "Hardship often prepares an ordinary person for an extraordinary destiny."
I consider it an honor to be present and walk alongside clients during these trials, and through the vehicle of support and faith move them towards a healthier self.
Pauline advocates for the dignity of human life at all stages. She seeks the opportunity to do so not just in her practice but also through her volunteer work with the 'Project Rachel' ministry for the Catholic Archdiocese of Indianapolis. She works with the intricate area of grief and trauma experienced by both women and men who have undergone painful losses from an abortion or miscarriage. In honor of Pauline's efforts in this area, she was the recipient of the 'Sanctity of Life' Award from the Catholic Archdiocese in 2013.
