Message from Therapist

I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) who believes in the preventative, restorative, and healing nature of therapy. 

I enjoy working collaboratively with my clients helping build, maintain, or restore relationships in their lives. Whether this be the relationship with themselves, their spouse, or children. I believe healthy relationships are the key to happy lives.

With a client-centered approach, I provide evidence-based interventions such as CBT, DBT,  mindfulness, and motivational interviewing in conjunction with faith-based practices allowing, you the client, to receive a well-rounded and holistic approach to healing. 

Choosing to work on yourself is a difficult first step and yet the most important. I'm so glad you've come! Let's get started!

Bio:
Monica Hinderer, LCPC is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in Illinois and obtained her Masters in Mental Health Counseling from Boston College's Lynch School. She has extensive experience in serving the mental health needs of individuals, groups, and local communities. Her training emphasized both academic and applied experiences that integrate developmental and multicultural frameworks to understand the mental health of diverse populations. Throughout her internship with Riverside Community Care in Boston, MA, she was able to put her skills, training, and education to good use in the In-home therapy and outpatient services. She has also worked in a substance abuse clinic, high-school, and group practice.

She moved back to the Chicago, IL area in 2019 and worked as a Licensed Professional Counselor in a group practice for several years. She then obtained her license as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and began her private practice.

Monica applies a strong emphasis on strength-based approaches, compassionate care, and integrated behavioral approaches, facilitating her education and development as a counselor.

My work is totally remote, giving you the freedom and flexibility to attend therapy where and when you want. 

In addition to counseling/therapy I also offer coaching and consulting for individuals, parents, and organizations who many not live in the state of Illinois but would still like a platform where they can set goals, learn psycho-education pertinent to their situation and develop skill development necessary for their life.
