In therapy, I like to follow the lead of the client so I can best make suggestions and observations that serve the client's stated goal. I employ a holistic approach, considering the whole person: their biology and neuroscience, faith, and personal values.
My background includes the treatment of a wide variety of mental disorders including trauma, depression, and anxiety. I am skilled in multiple therapeutic approaches. In treatment, I pull from various approaches depending on the needs of each client. I believe affirmation is essential and I consistently identify a client's strengths and celebrate their wins. I believe it is important to address thoughts and patterns that are not working, as well as build on those that work well.
I look forward to helping you work toward changes for a life that is more functional, joyful, and peaceful.
I am always trying to go deeper into my faith and find the richness that is available to us as Catholics. When I was first drawn to psychology and counseling, I could tell that a great many people were suffering internally. I wanted to both understand why this was happening and participate in the relief of this suffering. A big part of what makes the counseling work effective is that speaking is one of the primary means by which we order our minds. Jesus Christ is the Word Incarnate, the Logos. Speaking to one another is part of how we order our minds to Him. When we do this, our thinking, our emotions, and our lives become ordered and more peaceful. I invite you to come and talk with me and order your mind.
