I have been blessed to work in a number of arenas as a master level social worker and counselor of over 30 years.  Two years ago, I felt moved by God to broaden my skill set, so I could counsel from a faith based perspective.  As a lifelong Catholic with a passion for our Church and the sacraments,  I entered into and completed a post-graduate program in pastoral counseling through Holy Apostles College and Seminary.  My program covered relevant teachings from theology, psychology and morality, which now form my work. I offer spiritually integrated psychotherapy, for those who want this approach.  According to Dr. Ken Pargament, "Spirituality starts and stops with the sacred."  If something is viewed as sacred it is simply worthy of awe and respect, thus I strive to help my clients discern what this is in their lives.  I also use research based best clinical practices, including, but not limited to: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Positive Psychology, Solution Focused Therapy, Person-centered Therapy, and Trauma Informed care.

I am a proud member of The Catholic Psychotherapy Association and the Association of Catholic Mental Health Ministers. I collaborate with others who share my passion, so we may attend to the broken hearted and hurting among us, drawing on God's love and mercy to effectively do so.

So, if you are seeking therapy from a Catholic therapist, I welcome the opportunity to work with you in my practice, Sacred Space Counseling & Coaching, LLC.  I offer assessment and therapy in my office, via secure video, or via telephone, depending upon client preference and what their insurance plan allows. I specialize in general mental health, addiction, and trauma, working primarily with adolescents and adults in individual, family, and group therapy.

Bio:
I am a proud graduate of Holy Apostles College and Seminary with a post-graduate certificate in Pastoral Counseling, the University of Toledo, with a Bachelor of Art Degree in Social Worker, and a graduate of Case Western Reserve University's Mandel School of Applied Social Science, with a Master of Science degree in Social Administration (clinical social work). I have worked in community mental healthcare agencies, private practice, schools, industries, churches, and healthcare settings, as a clinician and as a program director.

I am a lifelong Catholic and single mother to two teenage sons. I am active in my parish as a Eucharistic Minister,  Lector, and ACTS member.
