Although my therapeutic approach incorporates a variety of modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and psychodynamic approaches, I often conceptualize individuals under an Internal Family Systems or “parts-work” approach. Essentially, I help individuals find their inmost self—the inmost self is the core of the human person as made in the image of God. A person attuned to their inmost self is better able to regulate and heal their wounded (traumatized, addicted, or anxious) parts which prevent us from fully actualizing our image of God identity.
We are not the sum total of our woundedness or sin but the sum of the Father's love for us.
Luis provides therapy and counseling services by Telehealth to California residents.
Luis is open and willing to work with any individual problem or issue. He specializes in working with individuals who struggle with shame, anxiety, depression, meaninglessness, addiction, and trauma. As a youth minister, Luis has tremendous experience working with teens. He also enjoys working with couples: holy matrimony reveals God’s sacramental love for us and Luis finds joy in helping couples recenter their relationship on this truth.
Luis’ Catholic faith is very important to him and he is interested in helping others find the healing they need.
