I provide a holistic approach in a safe, non-judgmental environment in which we collaboratively examine you as a whole person to help you navigate familial stressors, trauma, grief issues and more. I will do my very best to help you move toward health and happiness.
Whether you need guidance, support or community services, together, we can develop goals and work towards achieving them. I’ve had the opportunity to work with adolescents and their families for 25 years with a vast array of issues that expand from school to the home setting. Through counseling, behavioral techniques and goal setting we will together create a plan to find success in school, at work and at home.
In addition, I have assisted patients and their loved ones with addressing life altering challenges and facilitating conversations around transitioning back home, or into the next phase of their life in a nursing home or assisted living facility. Life has many challenges, and I have had a unique opportunity to work with many of these. Whether you are young, older or in between, everyone wants to feel valued, respected and supported.
I collaborate with my clients in order to establish goals that they want to work on over the course of their treatment. My goal is to help guide you in the direction you want to be in and help you recognize your strengths so that you can use them to help you grow emotionally as well as with managing whatever life throws at you.
I am happy to answer your questions through a consultation.
I specialize working with adolescents on a variety of emotional, developmental and behavioral challenges. While I have extensive experience working with adolescents in schools, I have years of experience helping them and their families in crisis. Other areas of expertise include: learning disabilities, Autistic Spectrum, depression, anxiety, aging concerns, Alzheimer's, caregiving stress and accessing community resources including social security and guardianship.
I believe that everyone has the right to achieve their highest level of independence, even when they have a learning or developmental disability, or life altering illness. At times our loved ones need support and guidance along the way. In addition to my professional experience, I raised a child on the Autistic spectrum and supported a parent with Alzheimer’s. I am currently a School Social Worker on a Child Study Team. I have worked as a crisis counselor, child care worker, juvenile justice counselor and in a hospital working with pediatrics, maternity, oncology, and critical care units. We don’t get to pick what life throws at us, but we can get support to deal with it.
