Message from Therapist

"The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want;
He makes me lie down in green pastures.
He leads me beside still waters; He restores my soul."
Psalm 23:1-2

After seven years of serving as a Catholic missionary, first on college campuses in the U.S. and then in the foreign mission field in Central America, South America, and Asia, I decided to pursue my calling to become a therapist.

I established Come Find Rest Counseling, PLLC, as a therapeutic space where any person could come to experience restoration, healing, and rejuvenation. A place where you can safely begin to unfold and find rest for your soul. No matter what season of life you may find yourself in, we all need a space to share our story with another.

I know the impact that trauma can have on the mind and the body. Because of this, I approach each client from a trauma-informed, attachment- based, and emotionally- focused lens.

I work with children, teens, young adults, and adults that feel stuck where they are at in life. Clients who may be struggling with trauma, family of origin issues, anxiety, depression, grief, life transitions, eating disorders, body image, self-esteem, chronic illness, PTSD/ C-PTSD, neurodivergence, relationship issues, co-dependency, perfectionism, people-pleasing, burnout, or family conflict. I start with providing a safe-haven connection and secure base within the therapeutic relationship. This allows the ability to explore emotions, helping you to get unstuck and hopeful again.

I believe that change and growth happens within relationships, when someone feels safety, security, and connection. I focus on how clients get stuck and where the source of their pain is coming from. Meeting each person where they are, understanding their way of seeing, and honoring their emotions.

Here you will be received with compassion and empathy. I am honored to accompany you on this journey.

Bio:
Therapy has had a lasting impact on my life, leading me to experience deeper freedom and healing. It has allowed me to become more fully myself, rediscovering different parts that had become lost and stuck in survival mode.

I gained resilience, courage, strength, and confidence in the process of allowing another to witness my story. It was because of this that I became a therapist.

I desire to help you with navigating the challenges, difficulties, and heavy burdens that life brings:

- to be a witness to the stories that you have lived and experienced.
- to reassure you that you are not alone in the struggle.
- to allow you to understand that purpose and meaning in your life can be discovered again in every season.
- to provide a safe space where you can feel seen and heard.
- to receive you just as you are.
- to give you the opportunity to experience the healing, growth, and flourishing that you desire.

I know that each person is unique, created in the image of God, and so I will focus on what will aid you the most in this process using evidence-based therapeutic modalities with the integration of faith and spirituality.

I will empathetically and compassionately hold out hope for your healing, even when it is difficult to see a different outcome for yourself.
