Do you find yourself asking questions such as the following: Why am I here, what do I want, what is my heart longing for? Do you find yourself struggling and unable to cope in your daily life or in your relationships? Are you looking for meaning and relief in the midst of suffering? Do not be afraid! We are called to human flourishing, to find meaning and fulfillment on this our pilgrim journey. Counseling is a powerful avenue in which we may know ourselves and in knowing ourselves grow to our full potential by learning from our past and living in the present moment.
My approach in therapy is to look at the whole human person. I bring to counseling a rich blend of seeing human anthropology from a philosophical, psychological, and, if requested, theological lens. I see the role of the counselor as one who listens and accompanies the client in their healing journey. I bring to counseling my past experience as an educator, time in formation as a religious seminarian, office manager and youth minister.
Many people come to counseling unsure of how to move forward as a result of the wounds of their past. They come holding onto trauma, anxiety, loneliness, depression, and a host of other sufferings. I bring to counseling evidence-based approaches that look at and treat the whole person. In counseling, we explore these areas, and use proven methods to heal wounds from the past that can be perpetuating these patterns.
As a practicing Catholic, I am comfortable respectfully integrating faith into counseling if you wish to do so.
