Are you struggling to live the life you want to live? Are you finding it hard to cope with depression, anxiety, emotional dysregulation, obsessive thoughts, or the aftermath of trauma? Is your mental health affecting your relationships? If so, there is hope for you. My name is Johanna; as a clinical counselor, I am passionate about helping young adults and adults work toward the life they dream of. I enjoy assisting clients in finding inner healing, developing better skills, and cultivating their strengths in order to improve their lives and relationships. I believe it is important to have a warm therapeutic relationship in which trust, safety, collaboration, and feedback are vital. Likewise, I believe it is important to challenge clients to do the work necessary to grow.
I have a Master's degree in Clinical Counseling from Divine Mercy University and am a Licensed Associate Counselor. I also have a Bachelor's degree in Theology; thus, I can integrate counseling with the Catholic Faith. My clinical interests include using Person-Centered Theory, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Cognitive Behavioral Theory (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). I am a Certified Clinical Traumatologist under the Green Cross Academy of Traumatology and am working on my Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Certification from the Academy of Cognitive and Behavioral Therapies. I am fully Bilingual (Spanish and English) and would be happy to counsel anyone in either language.
