We believe healing requires a balance of mind and spirit; for the mind to heal, the spirit must find the willingness to work. We work with each client in identifying their needs and exploring ways to help them find a sense of hope and purpose.
Our specialties include child therapy, behavior therapy, grief and loss, childhood and adult trauma, family therapy, couples therapy, play therapy, EMDR therapy, anxiety and depression, family reunification therapy.
We work with clients ages 5 and up and offer in-person and virtual sessions. Treatment is offered in Arabic, Chaldean, and English.
Our hope is to allow our clients the opportunity to communicate in the most comfortable environment.
Janice Kizy is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, she obtained her Mental Health Associate degree at Oakland Community College, undergraduate degree in Social Work from the University of Michigan-Flint and a master’s degree in social work from Wayne State University, with a Major in Family & Couples concerns.
Janice has been providing social work services and serving the community for over 20 years. She is fluent in Arabic, Chaldean, and English. She successfully uses her language skills to provide care and a comfortable environment to clients who prefer professional services in their native language.
Her career is dedicated to the support and growth of a diverse population. She recognized early on in her career that building a strong rapport with clients, creating a safe environment, and making accurate assessments of their needs whether mental/emotional, spiritual, or physical is key to improving client outcomes and helping clients achieve their therapeutic goals. Janice is a Christian counselor. She applies basic Christian values in her daily routine and knows how important it is to meet her clients where they are. Through her years of experience, she recognizes that emotional healing is a part of a much bigger process and requires a balance of mind and spirit. In order for the mind to heal, the spirit has to find a willingness to work. She respects and considers everyone’s spiritual journey as unique and is open to her client’s needs no matter what their faith and where they may be in this journey. Janice is honored to journey with her clients in her private practice, Mind and Spirit Counseling, LLC.
