In counseling, I combine a compassionate presence, proven psychotherapeutic methods and the timeless wisdom of Catholic teaching to help you heal wounds from the past, reshape present patterns and relationships, and discover a new path into a healthy and joyful future.
Many people come to counseling feeling stuck, and unsure about how to change a pattern in their life. These patterns can be internal, relational, or (most often) both. Internally, you may be experiencing sadness, anxiety, or anger that overwhelm you and keep you from the peace that you long for. You may be troubled by experiences in your past. Relationally, you may be having trouble finding or maintaining the supportive and loving relationships you desire. You may be having mixed feelings or distress about family or romantic relationships in particular.
In counseling, we explore these areas, and use proven methods to heal wounds from the past that can be perpetuating these stuck patterns. In particular, I use the effective and extensively researched methods of Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and aspects of the Internal Family Systems (IFS) model that are consistent with the Catholic view of the human person.
As a practicing Catholic, I am comfortable respectfully integrating faith into counseling if a you wish to do so. If you would like, we can include orthodox practices such as prayer, Christian mindfulness, and Immanuel Prayer.
