What we believe about ourselves can be greatly impacted by the traumas we face. What if our core beliefs included having empathy for ourselves and our history? This is my goal with all of my clients.
I use evidence based theories with my clients to reprocess trauma and help them achieve their personal goals. Trained in both Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), I use these approaches to inform my trauma-focused care.
I desire to walk closely with God and my clients in order to provide a compassionate and faithful therapeutic environment through the art of accompaniment, which teaches us to "remove our sandals before the sacred ground of the other"(Pope Francis, "The Joy of the Gospel").
I look forward to meeting you and walking with you towards healing and wholeness!
I am honored to serve the Church as a mental health counselor! After working in non-profit and music ministry for 10 years, I became a mental health counselor. Psychology and self-knowledge have long been a passion of mine. I have often had friends and strangers say to me things like, "I've never told this to anybody before", "you're such a good listener" and "talking to you is so easy." Becoming a counselor is a true vocational work that I think God has called me to. I am grateful to serve the Church in this capacity. When I'm not with my clients via-telehealth, I'm either tending to my (many) plants, baking, playing guitar, or contemplating if I should get a puppy.
