Claire Yanoschik, MS, APCC

Hello! My name is Claire and I am a Registered Associate Professional Clinical Counselor based in California. I believe our Catholic faith not only gives us the true framework to understand human nature and pursue our ultimate goal of heaven, but also provides a way to bear our suffering with hope and meaning guided by the example of Christ and the saints. My four years of theology and philosophy at Thomas Aquinas College and my studies at Divine Mercy University have formed my Catholic worldview of the human person and helped me integrate this with the modern field of psychology.

My goal is to offer a safe environment in which you will be able to dig deeper and more closely examine the behaviors and beliefs that are preventing you from flourishing. I believe that good relationships are essential to healing and I hope that through counseling you will find the encouragement you need to reach your goals.

As you consider counseling and search for a therapist, I invite you to think about the question Jesus asked the paralytic man in John’s Gospel (5:6). Jesus, knowing the man had laid beside the pool waiting many years for someone to help him in, asked him: “Do you want to be healed?” I have been struck by this question when I consider my own response. What does that question bring up for you? Do you believe you are called to flourish? Maybe you notice with surprise that you have some hesitance, maybe you find yourself doubting your own worthiness, maybe you don't think you deserve therapy, maybe you lack hope for real change. Do you believe God desires you to live a flourishing, joyful life?

Change is hard, but you are not meant to change on your own. Through God's grace and supportive relationships you can find the strength to change and heal.
