My rate is $120 per session. I am in-network for Aetna and Cigna only.
I can offer a monthly superbill for you to seek out-of-network reimbursement.

Using a meaning-centered approach, I will help you process loss and trauma, and reduce symptoms while improving self-worth and coping. Grief and Trauma Counseling, Maternal Mental Health Training, EMDR Trauma Therapy, and Pastoral Counseling equip me to help you overcome life’s challenges and build meaning effectively.

I specialize in working with adults facing grief and trauma, caregivers, prenatal and postpartum depression and anxiety, and military, law enforcement, and intelligence officer personnel.

The first and most difficult step is to admit that your current attempts to cope and manage your issues aren’t working.  The next step is to take action. If you feel stuck in life, know that you don't have to go it alone.

Click on my Full Slate webpage to schedule your free 15-minute phone consultation:

Please note that I work daytime weekdays only and have only biweekly late morning and early afternoon availability.

Practice Info

Bio:
My journey with spousal caregiving and young widowhood following a September 2004 cancer diagnosis and the February 2006 death of my first husband eventually led me to seek to change careers to become a counselor. I love helping individuals and couples by helping them to build meaning, acceptance, and self-worth despite grief, past traumatic life experiences, shame, problematic behavior, symptoms, and relationship patterns.

My Bachelor’s degree is in Psychology from Brandeis University. In August 2016, I earned a Master’s of Arts degree in Pastoral Counseling from Marymount University and earned the Outstanding Scholar award for 2016. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Virginia and have extensive experience in clinical settings working with a wide variety of issues.

I am a professing and practicing Catholic Christian, who was originally born, raised, and practiced as a Greek Orthodox Christian until I converted to the Catholic Church in 2012.

INDIVIDUAL COUNSELING

Life throws many surprises at us, and even more so when dealing with major life transitions, grief, and trauma.
While we cannot predict the outcome of any situation, we can take control of how we respond and cope with certain situations, and emphasize the lessons learned.

We will first emphasize improving your symptoms of depression, anxiety, anger, shame, and trauma.
With my counseling sessions, you’ll learn about acceptance, evaluate and define your life meaning,
and how to exert your power of choice over whatever life may throw at you.  I will help you when coping with grief, trauma, caregiver demands, prenatal and postpartum depression and anxiety, and first responder strains.

My counseling fees are $120 per individual 55 min session.  I am in-network for Cigna and Aetna and will be credentialed with United Healthcare later this fall.
