Message from Therapist

I have extensive experience working on a wide range of mental health issues including anxiety, depression, self-harming behaviors, attachment wounds, disordered eating and other various life stressors. I utilize various techniques and interventions and do not believe in a one size fits all approach to counseling. I have specialized training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) which places an emphasis on mindfulness, emotional regulation, distress tolerance skills, and interpersonal effectiveness/communication skills. We are all unique individuals and will require different approaches as we go through this beautiful (and oftentimes messy) experience called life! Treatment plans will be individualized and tailored to each person and in relation to their presenting concerns.

I work with adults ages 18 and older. I have a strong passion for walking alongside college aged students as they transition into their new phase of life. This is often a confusing and challenging time for young adults; if this is you I would be honored to walk with you during this time of growth and change!

More About Bernadette Scott, MS, LPC

Pax Therapy Solutions, LLC, is a family-owned counseling practice.

What does "Pax" mean?
“Pax” is the Latin word for “peace,” which we believe is a pivotal indicator of human flourishing.

Our goal is, by the grace of God, to bring peace to those who seek it.

Since psychotherapy is such an intrinsically personal process, we find it beneficial to disclose our own philosophy prior to initiating therapy. After all, we all have one! Our therapists have been trained in, and embrace, the “Catholic-Christian Meta-Model of the Person” as a means of making sense of our purpose and nature as human beings. In short, the meta-model informs the conceptualization of our clients and everyone else in this world. Learn more at our website.
