Message from Therapist

From a young age, I have had an innate desire to help others which has led to countless situations where I was “counseling” friends, family, and strangers alike.  So, a natural transition to my second career as a counselor became available when my children moved from our nest, and I was encouraged by my husband to make myself legitimate by returning to school.

As I have moved into this role I have discovered that I am hard pressed to counsel without my faith. I believe that God created us as fully human in mind, body and spirit. My goal as a counselor is to be led by the Holy Spirit in helping my clients find growth and balance in these three areas.

My approach is to offer empathetic guidance and meaningful feedback as you journey along self-discovery, and personal growth. It’s important to acknowledge that no matter the feelings—be it sadness, anxiety, or hopelessness there is a path towards healing and growth.  I will help you to find the tools to overcome and take back control over your life.

I look forward to guiding you toward authentic change to get back on track, living a meaningful life with positive connections with those you care about.

Practice Info

Bio:
I have worked in a variety of settings with children and adults, that include mentor relationships, school counseling and grief work. I have incorporated sand tray and play therapy in working with children. All of these experiences have given me a current perspective of some of the challenges our children and young adults are experiencing, along with a desire to help them navigate these issues in a positive way. My goal is to create a safe, positive, affirming, and judgment-free environment and to support each of my clients as they process their struggles, discover new levels of resilience, and build self-confidence.
