Message from Therapist

My goal as a therapist is to build a trusting therapeutic relationship with you by applying therapeutic techinques with Catholic faith-based counseling to improve your life by giving you a better understanding of yourself and the relationship you have with God and the people around you. I believe counseling is more than simply addressing the presenting issue; true healing occurs when we repair our relationship with others, ourselves, and our God.

Bio:
Andrew Van Roie is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate in Kentucky. Andrew is originally from Maryland and graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2018 with a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice. Upon graduation he worked with the Montgomery County Police Department and in restaurant management until beginning his graduate studies in 2022 at the Franciscan University of Steubenville in Ohio. He obtained his Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Franciscan University of Steubenville. Franciscan University is one of the few Catholic graduate programs fully accredited by CACREP (an independent accrediting agency of counseling programs throughout the U.S. which ensures programs meet the standards of excellence set by the counseling profession). Franciscan University is unapologetically Catholic and trains counselors in their Master of Arts program to first recognize each person as a child of God.

Andrew is a full-time clinician with Good Shepherd Institute of the Bluegrass (GSIB) - Catholic Counseling Center. He has experience working with both children and adults who present varying needs and histories; and extensive work assisting individuals struggling with various addictions.

Andrew looks forward to working with individuals, families, and parishes throughout the Archdiocese of Louisville.
