De Marillac Counseling, LLC was always in the plan for my career but was placed in wait until the right time came. This past summer of 2020, my practice (De Marrillac Counseling) came into being. For over 22 years, I have counseled many adolescents, adult individuals and families with mental health issues and/or substance abuse issues, both court ordered and Voluntary.
I look forward to the next part of my career as a private practitioner continuing to bring healing and empower people by freely providing therapy and counseling the way our Lord intended me to practice. Throughout my years as a counselor, I have always relied on Catholic Teaching and, in cases of ethics where it challenged my faith, always responded and counseled based on Church Teaching. Also 19 yrs ago, I entered the Secular Order Discalced Carmelites (OCDS) and currently in transfer to the Third Order of Carmel O.Carm. My formation that I have received has shaped my therapeutic abilities and enhanced my presence and listening towards those to whom I counsel. I have also used mental prayer as a technique to those who struggle with anxiety and panic attacks.
