Are the therapists listed here licensed?Yes. Most states require a license to provide counseling and psychotherapy services. Some states do not require licensure. In states that do not require or license therapists, those therapists may not be licensed.
Are the therapists screened on this site?Each therapist must fill out an application and be in agreement with the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church. In addition, each therapist provides a copy of their license, proof of professional liability insurance and also provide both a professional and clergy reference. We do not provide any other public information except for what is seen on the profiles of our therapist members. Any information not posted on the public profiles of our therapist members is for our application process only.
We cannot guarantee that you will be satisfied with each therapist, as there are many factors that influence a client's compatibility with each therapist. It is solely your responsibility to find out whether a therapist possesses the qualities that are most important to you. We urge you to ask questions before setting up an appointment and follow your own instincts when choosing a therapist. If you are uncomfortable for any reason when speaking to a particular therapist, we suggest you refrain from engaging that therapist and select someone else.
